Privacy Policy

Lambfold ("Lambfold", "we", "us") is a Bible story app made by BYCOZELL LLC. This policy explains what we collect, why, who helps us, and the choices you have. We wrote it in plain words on purpose.

The short version

You can use Lambfold without an account. We create a private guest account so your progress can be saved.
Your prayers, journal notes and what you share in Ask are private to you. Other people can't see them.
When you use Ask, the text you type is sent to an AI service so it can write your reply.
We don't show ads, we don't sell your information, and we don't use it to track you across other apps or websites.
You can delete your account and everything in it from inside the app.

What we collect

What you give us

Your first name, if you enter one. It is used to greet you and to label your group reflections.
Your email address, only if you choose to add one to keep your progress on a new phone.
Your progress and content: stories you've read, streaks, saved verses, prayers, journal notes, your reading preferences, and the things you've shared in Ask.
Group content: if you join or start a reading group, your group code and any reflections you post to the group. Group members can see those reflections and your first name.
Messages to us: if you email support, we keep your message and our reply.

What is created automatically

A random account ID for your guest or signed-in account.
Usage counts for Ask (how many replies you've used this week), so we can apply the free limit. We do not store the text of your Ask messages in these counts.
Your subscription status, if you subscribe, so Premium works on all your devices.
Basic technical information that any online service receives when your phone connects, such as your IP address and device type. Our hosting provider processes this to deliver the app and keep it secure.

How Ask and other AI features work

Ask, Go deeper study notes, personal plans, and translations into Spanish and French are written with artificial intelligence. When you use one, the text needed to write the reply (for Ask, what you typed) is sent from our server to our AI provider, Anthropic, and the reply is sent back to you. We use the provider's business (API) service. The provider may process and keep that text for a limited period under its own terms. Please don't enter information you wouldn't want processed this way, such as your full name, address, or other people's private details.

AI replies can be wrong. They are not a substitute for your Bible, your pastor, or professional care. See our Terms of Use.

If you write something suggesting you may be in danger or thinking of harming yourself, Lambfold shows you local help information. This check runs on your phone and on our server so it can always respond, even when you've used your free replies.

Why we use your information

To run Lambfold: save your progress, sync it to your devices, power groups, and write Ask replies.
To provide Premium and apply free limits.
To keep the service safe, fix problems, and prevent abuse.
To answer your questions and requests.
To meet legal obligations.

We do not use your prayers, journal notes or Ask messages to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or rent personal information.

Who helps us run Lambfold

We share information only with service providers who work for us, and only as needed:

Supabase: stores accounts and saved progress and delivers group updates.
Anthropic: writes AI replies, as described above.
RevenueCat (once subscriptions launch): manages subscription status, together with Apple's App Store and Google Play, which process payments. We never see your card number.
Apple and Google: provide the app stores, sign-in, and payment processing under their own policies.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business (we would tell you and your choices would continue to apply).

Groups

Anyone with a group's code can join it and read its reflections. Share your code only with people you trust. Don't post anything private in a group reflection. You can delete your own reflections, and deleting your account removes them.

How long we keep information

We keep your account and content until you delete it. When you delete your account in the app, we erase your account, progress, prayers, notes and group posts. Backups are overwritten on a regular cycle, usually within 30 days. We may keep limited records we're required to keep by law, such as subscription transactions.

Your choices and rights

Delete: Settings, then "Delete my account". This erases your data from our systems.
Access or correct: your content is visible to you inside the app. For anything else, email us.
Sign out or use as a guest: you don't have to give us an email.
Reminders: turn them off in the app or in your phone settings.

Depending on where you live (for example California, or the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom), you may have additional rights, such as to receive a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to certain uses. To use them, email info@bycozell.com. We'll respond within the time the law requires. We don't discriminate against anyone for using these rights.

Children

Lambfold is meant for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. "Kids mode" is a simpler reading style for families to use together, not a separate children's product. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

Security and where data is stored

We use encryption in transit and access controls so that each person can reach only their own data. No system is perfectly secure. Information is processed in the United States and may be processed in other countries where our providers operate.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and tell you in the app.
